ISRO (Indian Space Research Organization) is all set to launch 31 satellites on Thursday. One 100kg Micro satellite, a 5Kg nano satellite and The 710 Kg cartosat 2 series satellite being launched for earth observation. While the other 28 satellites are from Finland, United States, United Kingdom, canada. The total weight of all of these 31 satellites is 1323 Kg – ISRO stated.
K. Sivan, who was the head behind sending 104 satellites into orbit, has been assigned as the new chairman . Relations Director of ISRO, DP Karnik told that the countdown would begin 24 hours before the launch of PSLV-C40 on Thursday which will be carrying 31 satellites at 9.28 AM on Friday. Space engineers will start filling liquid and solid fuels in the rocket’s lower fuel tanks on Thursday, while the fueling of the middle and upper stages would be done after integrating all the 31 satellites with the launch vehicle – PSLV-C40.
According to the Satellite Center Director, M Annadurai, The micro satellite will be india’s 100th satellite into the space. Also IRO will be conducting Chandrayan – 2 lunar mission to the moon with an an orbiter and rover soon. As per ISRO, Cartosat will transfer high-quality images for the load network monitoring and cartographic applications.
