After a bunch of leaks and rumors, finally Samsung Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9 plus launch confirmed on February 25 at the MWC 2018 event in Barcelona. Samsung has already started distributing invites for the launch event.
Samsung will be showcasing their next gen flagship Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9+ at 10:30 PM IST (6 PM CET) on February 25 in the Mobile World Congress Event. Samsung’s launch invitation letter says,“If a picture is worth a thousand words, the latest member of the Galaxy family has a lot to say. On February 25, Samsung Electronics will showcase the next generation of Galaxy devices that reimagines the camera and redefines the way you share your moments.” Also Samsung will live stream the launch event of galaxy s9 and s9+ live for their global fans.
While there is no official comment over the specifications of Samsung galaxy s9 and galaxy s9 plus. While it’s expected that Galaxy S9 will sport a 5.8 inch Quad HD sAMOLED display, along with IP68 water and dust resistant rating. The plus variant will have little bigger screen with few extra gigs of RAM. Samsung Galaxy S9 would come with 12MP (f1.2/f2.4) super speed dual camera setup along with a 8MP Auto focus front camera. And the Samsung galaxy S9 plus will feature a 12MP+13MP (f/1.4) rear camera setup.

Samsung Galaxy S9 will be coupled with 4GB / 6GB RAM and 64GB / 128 GB internal storage. Galaxy S9 would be powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 SoC while there will be Exynos 9810 SoC used for few regions including India. Reports claimed that there would be a 512 GB storage variant of the upcoming Samsung flagship. Also according to some leaks there would be a 3,000 mAh battery used for Galaxy S9 and a 3,500 mAh battery for the Galaxy S9+ which will come with 15W fast charging support. The pre-orders for Samsung galaxy s9 and galaxy s9 plus is expected to start from the first week of march and it’ll go on sale in the next weeks of march. Following Samsung’s track, In India the launch is expected after a month of its official release.
